Webster’s 1828 dictionary defines Loyal as:
Faithful to a prince or superior; true to plighted faith, duty or love; not treacherous; used of subjects to their prince, and of husband, wife and lovers; as a loyal subject; a loyal wife.
It’s easy to be loyal when things are going smoothly and going the way you like them to go, but that’s not loyalty – that’s convenience. Loyalty is sticking with someone no matter what. Be very careful about who you give your loyalty to; it is a commitment not to be taken lightly.
